My Costa Rican experience compelled me to go on a wilderness expedition during sophomore year. Here food took on a different meaning. Even though I ate my usual fare – pasta, cheese, peanut butter, and oatmeal – I wasnt used to eating in order to sustain my energy. We backpacked five miles a day through mountainous terrain in chilly weather, so everyone had to eat three times more than usual. My group stopped to eat as an excuse to take a breather from the back-breaking hikes. Our best times were spent at lunch and dinner, partially because they were the only times we werent walking or sleeping. We pulled together to make meals, dividing up the tasks. One day, we soaked up the sun and made jokes about how after three days, the crackers had been reduced to crumbs, the trail mix was mostly raisins, and six of us had blisters. It surprised me that, in these situations, very different people could enjoy each others company. None of us would have survived if we hadnt bonded; our physical and mental struggles necessitated human companionship. I dont talk to any of them now, and I regret drifting away from them. The times we spent warming up over hot chocolate, making burnt macaroni and cheese, and trying Spam for the first time are some of the most meaningful experiences of my life because the people and the food were the only things that sustained me for those 10 days. I learned the weight food carries in peoples lives – literally and figuratively. It means survival, but it also means an extra 20 pounds in your pack. I realize now why I was picky as a kid – I didnt want to admit I was wrong. My stubbornness kept me from trying foods that I might have savored. I closed myself off from opportunities, not only of the edible kind, but also of a social nature. When I try new foods, I make new friends, take risks, and bond with people I wouldnt expect. How could I have missed out on so much? Rest assured, I never will again. I could settle and let my life be candy and popcorn, pizza and pasta, but Im more of a lychee and star fruit girl now.

This then gives the user the illusion that the computer is coming up with way to try and beat them. This is where a new way of thinking came in. The idea was to actually simulate the way a human thinks by actually creating a computer simulated brain. This in theory anyway would allow the program to actually think and learn through trial and error. Neural networks grew out of research in Artificial Intelligence by attempting to mimic the fault-tolerance and capacity to learn of biological neural systems by modelling the low-level structure of the brain. A Biography of King John of England King John was King of England from 1199 to 1216. Youth and Struggle for the Crown King John was the youngest son of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine to survive childhood, being born in 1166. It appears that John was the favored son of Henry, and so the king tried to find him large lands to live from. One grant of several castles, given when John was first to be married (to an Italian heiress), provoked anger among his brothers and started a war between them. Henry II won, but John was given only a little land in the resulting settlement. John was betrothed in 1176 to Isabella, heir to the rich earldom of Gloucester. When John’s older brother Richard became heir to his fathers throne, Henry II wanted to promote Richard to inheriting England, Normandy, and Anjou, and give John Richard’s current holding of Aquitaine, but Richard refused to concede even this, and another round of family warfare followed. A friend that used to go to my school h ad an older sister that was bisexual, she was also my friend, even helped me with bullies. Later that year my (bisexual) friend started dating girl that used to go to my school, after they broke up she dated one of my older friends. It was also the same place where I heard homophobic slurs for the first time. The kids at my school would use the words gay and faggot towards each other, never towards bisexual students but at sometimes at the only gay student. I still hear people use these terms but now I try to get them to stop using them. Eighth grade wasn’t a very good year for me.
